Ron Bosse, Guitar: A graduate of Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music, guitarist, composer and educator Ron Bosse has achieved national recognition for his work, and has been cited in such widely read publications as Jazz Times Magazine, The Boston Globe and The New York Times. In 1994 Ron was voted “Outstanding Guitarist” by Guitar Player Magazine who then went on to call him “...a master in the making.” As founder and artistic director of “Next Level Jazz”- an ongoing concert series dedicated to bringing musicians of the highest caliber together in new and unique settings, Ron has produced over 400 concerts at various venues throughout the U.S and Canada. As part of this series he has performed with some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians including Bob Mintzer, Dave Liebman, George Garzone, Rick Margitza, Gary Thomas, Jerry Bergonzi and Bob Moses. Ron has performed at numerous festivals and jazz clubs throughout the U.S and Canada.
Will Hudgins, Vibes:
Will Hudgins is a percussionist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and is a faculty member at the New England Conservatory of Music. A native of Texas, percussionist Will Hudgins was awarded Interlochen's Joseph E. Maddy Memorial Scholarship to attend the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. In 1980 he earned his bachelor of music degree, winning the highest award in the school-wide Concours Recital Competition. After completing his work at Peabody, Mr. Hudgins went on to Temple University in Philadelphia, where he earned his master's degree and studied with Philadelphia Orchestra percussionist Alan Abel. In the spring of 1982, ten days before he was awarded his master's, he won a position with the Florida Symphony Orchestra, with which he remained until joining the Boston Symphony Orchestra during the November 1990.
Formed in 1997, critically acclaimed jazz group Ron Bosse & Pursuance has attracted audiences throughout the U.S and Canada with its adventurous compositions, telepathic interplay and high energy performances. The most recent incarnation of the group includes guitarist, composer and bandleader Ron Bosse; Boston Symphony percussionist and vibraphonist Will Hudgins; Berklee College of Music professors Rick Dimuzio & Fernando Huergo, and first-call Boston drummer Steve Langone.
Fernando Huergo, Bass: Born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1968, bassist Fernando Huergo has recorded over 80 albums, including 7 as leader, and has toured in North, Central and South America, Europe and Asia. He has performed with numerous jazz legends and rising talents including Danilo Perez, Guillermo Klein, Victor Mendoza, Luciana Souza, Hendrick Meurkens, Dave Liebman, Tom Harrell, Dave Liebman, Billy Pierce, George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Dave Kikoski, Rick Margitza, Kenny Werner, Danilo Perez, David Sanchez, Don Braden, Claudio Roditi, Mike Stern, Dave Weckl, Fernando graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1992, where he is a Faculty Member in the Bass Department since 1996, with the position of Assistant Professor. He also teaches at Tufts University where he has been on the faculty since 2001.
Steve Langone, Drums: Massachusetts native Steve Langone is one of the most in-demand drummers in New England having shared the stage with musicians such George Garzone, John Lockwood, Jerry Bergonzi, Oscar Stagnaro, Helio Alves and Henry Murkins. Steve has performed at such prestigious venues and festivals such as Regattabar, Blue Note, Boston Globe Jazz Festival, Heineken Jazz Festival, and Scullers. Boston Globe columnist Bob Blumenthal has described Steve's technical artistry as "combustible". Steve is a graduate of Boston's renowned Berklee College of Music and has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
Rick Dimuzio, Tenor & Soprano Sax: He has performed in many of the city’s venues, including the Boston Globe Jazz Festival, Portsmouth Jazz Festival, the Regattabar, Scullers, Ryles, and also Wally’s Café, where he played a three-year stint in the weekend house band. In addition to leading his own ensembles, Rick plays as a sideman with Leo Blanco and with Fernando Huergo's Jinga Quintet. He has also traveled throughout the United States and Italy and has performed with such artists as Steve Grossman, David Liebman, Ellery Eskelin, Bill Perkins, Bill Pierce, Kenny Wheeler, Tim Hagans, Clay Jenkins, Conrad Herwig, Danilo Perez, James Williams, Louie Bellson, Bob Moses, Terri Lyne Carrington, Roger Humphries, Jamey Haddad, and John Hollenbeck. Rick serves as associate professor at Berklee College of Music and teaches privately. He is a former faculty member of the New England Conservatory Extension Division, and the former Director of Jazz Studies at Truman State University, located in Kirksville, Missouri.
